Are You Ready for Success Part 3

When understanding your passions is not enough…

There is another component to this that we need to touch upon. That is, you are a part of a community of people. Part of the reason for engaging in the activity that you are passionate about is to bring value to your community. Most of the time this is the greatest “why” of pursuing those things you discover you are truly passionate about.

As I mentioned earlier…part of what plays a role in my determining what I do and don’t do is my great love and passion for my children. My “why” of deciding to monetize the two areas I spoke about above is because they are two areas that I can make a great deal of money in and I get to be home as well. My “why” helps to dictate the “what.” I could choose to simply fly fish and take people on trips and so forth but that would take me away from my family way more than I want to be away.

So, I choose to engage in and monetize those things that fit in with what are actually the most important things to me. The “why” dictates which passions need to be focused in on more than the other things. I could monetize any of it…however, I choose to engage primarily in those things that fit in with my biggest “why.”

On top of this…you need to absolutely commit to success. Fear often gets in the way of this but you must not let it. When you love something and your “why” is huge it is much easier to do this…however there is always the element of  “I will do this or die trying.”

When you have this level of commitment about something you are absolutely passionate about…the odds are greatly in your favor that you will succeed beyond your wildest dreams and imaginations.

That is why the last part of this first step is “pursue, pursue and pursue.” Winston Churchill had an unbelievably telling quote about not only his nature but also the reason why Great Britain was able to withstand the powerful forces of evil coming against them in World War II. His quote simply is this: “NEVER, NEVER, NEVER GIVE UP.”

Life will try to throw you all sorts of obstacles to seemingly trip you up along the way. But you must never forget Winston Churchill’s words. You see life isn’t really trying to trip you up…what is happening is that you are being refined. At times this refining process is hard…but if you absolutely persevere you will be amazed at what is waiting around the corner for you.

So, knowing and understanding your passions, uncovering your incredibly big “why” and absolutely persevering through the struggles of the journey are at the very core of turning the ship towards being able to become financially free. That is why we could not really cover anything else…until we covered this.

Life is hard enough that when it becomes seemingly impossible to navigate… you need bigger reasons to keep going than simply making money or simply having security because you are afraid of the alternative.

No, you need to be empowered and energized by your dreams and passions…focused by your huge “why” and sustained by your commitment to succeed.

Hang on tight because we will continue this journey into step two next time.

Until then…start figuring out what brings you life…then you will much better be able to truly engage in life and “live the adventure.”
