Build Your Rock Walls

I was reading a book tonight to my youngest son.  To be truthful it was a bit dark to actually read with my contacts in (I have a  tough time reading with my contacts in anyhow…something about getting old…I don't know! I guess it is time to start working on my eyes. I'll have to do a future post on that subject).

Anyhow, this story was about a little lamb named Drudge who runs off and gets lost in a snow storm. It is a neat story set in Ireland or Scotland. Forgive me for not knowing because it was too dark for me to read the small words. What I do know is that the pictures were absolutely beautifully done and it was a beautiful country side.

Rock Wall from Sally Ross Photography

Here is my point however in bringing this up. The fields where these sheep were kept were fenced off by rock walls. These are not rock walls built by big machinery like we see alongside our roadways from time to time. No…these rock walls were built by hand from rocks gathered in the fields.

These rocks were searched out and gathered on foot, carried by hand and stacked with good old fashioned sweat and effort. The beautiful rock walls in the pictures of the book (and like the photo here by Sally Ross) were built over the course of a great deal of time and effort.

Most people understand that nearly every good thing in life follows this model. Time, effort, perseverance and hard, hard work brings most things about. I spend a great deal of my time attending to my internet marketing business. I spend long hours and put in a great deal of hard work every single day to become successful. It is working.

I track the number of visitors to this particular blog (I have been switching over from my old blog)…which is practically brand new. The number of visitors I am getting is growing by a great degree every week. I can see that the number of  visitors to this blog has increased exponentially as I continue to daily put in the hard work to get information in front of people.

My hope is to inspire people to become as much as they possibly can be. I have a great deal of personal experiences to share and it takes a great deal of work, patience and perseverance to continue to write nearly everyday giving people hope and a slightly different perspective on life .

The fact is that you can absolutely be successful in the things that you are passionate about and give you great excitement if you treat it like the folks that built those rock walls. They ended up with something beautiful and super functional because of an extreme amount of hard work and perseverance.

There will be tons of friends and family members and the masses out there who will tell you that you can't do it. "The wall has to be too high and too long…you'll never finish." Or…"there are not enough rocks available." Or…"you should be tending to the garden or the house or the yard or the whatever and not spending countless hours building that stupid wall."

I am here to say…"keep going it is worth it…when you are finished you will not only have a beautiful wall but you will be able to help feed your family and grow your business because you built it. And, the feeling of accomplishment will be huge. In fact that may very well propel you more towards success than anything else. Keep it up and keep going and keep working. It is hard, it is time-consuming, it is sometimes brutal…but never give up. You will love yourself and your skeptical family and friends will love you in the end as well."

The end result will be beautiful. I am here to help you if you need it but don't ever give up building your walls!
