It may be time for all of us to gain a little perspective on the events of yesterday. As of now…there are not any explanations that actually work.

There are still too many questions that the explanations don’t answer. Could these things play a role…yes…but they don’t tell the whole story.

Here are the 2 most used explanations:

News of great unrest in Greece with their failing economic system caused vast nervousness in the world markets.

Someone from some company (reportedly in Citigroup) pressed a “B” instead of an “M” on their keyboard and a whole lot more shares were sold than intended.

I have 2 brief comments about these…

1…the 300 plus point drop on the day would certainly reflect continuing bad news concerning Greece that could potentially affect the economy of most countries in the world. However, the huge free fall does not correspond on the timeline well enough to accept this explanation. Plus…1000 point drop in moments of time over this news that has been building over time is highly unlikely.

It sounds like the European Union is going to bail Greece out. The markets recovered slightly in some parts of the world with this news but overall it probably is not a great thing, in my opinion.

2…if someone pressed a wrong key on their keyboard and that created the mess we saw yesterday, we are in deep trouble economically (I know we already know this but this just makes it way too real). This explanation is not entirely helpful when multiple companies took a dive all at the same time. Perhaps this keystroke mess up was linked to multiple companies but it doesn’t seem likely.

There just seems to be more going on here than people are saying or that anyone knows. It is not a good sign.

However…I have some good suggestions and some good news.

1. Invest in yourself…your education, your talents, your brand your business. You have control over your investment this way.

2. Invest in the market but invest in companies that have true value. Don’t simply watch prices and invest in that way. If what happened yesterday is any indication to what is to come…you will in no way be able to keep up with the rising and falling numbers.

If you like that sort of thing…maybe try your hand at currency trading. It is fast moving and crazy. You can lose your shirt in a moment’s time or you can gain a ton of wealth the same way…legalized gambling at its finest.

Anyhow…I’ll just finish up with a quick note as to how (after the initial free fall of certain company’s stocks the rest of the market would react so quickly…

Many people are on autopilot and when the overall market drops below a plateau the computers automatically kick in and sell. All of a sudden…there were tons of computers sending sell orders and the market took a real nose dive.

How and why did it bounce back the way it did? A very good question to which I don’t have a clue as to what the answer is.

We better stick to investing in ourselves and in our own businesses…then you only have yourself to blame if your investment takes a tumble downward.

For a period of time there was no information available at all. At one point the Dow lost about 1,000 points. Then it rose again and ended up at 10,520.32 with a loss of 347.80 overall for the day.

I am not going to speculate as to the nature of the day. The news from Greece is not good and the news about Gold supplies being just a fraction of what they should be in the major banks is not good either.

However…neither of these stories is all that new or explosive. There was some new news about Greece much earlier in the day…but it didn’t cause the market to change much. The vast changes in the market changed later in the day with no apparent connection.

This post is not so much about sharing information as seeking it. Anyone have any ideas about what is going on? There is seemingly something unusual and abnormal happening. I for one would like to know what it is.

If anyone out there has any ideas…please leave a comment. I am not sure everything is functioning in a free manner. There is either some insider news that most people don’t know about or there was a major malfunction or some outside manipulation happening with the market today. That is what I come up with…but I am not an expert in these areas…help!

If you haven’t noticed yet…life seems to flow in cycles. If you are aware of this you may just catch some of the messages being sent your way like a barrage of artillery in the middle of a war.

Or…as I like to say…”Lord, hit me on the head with a 2×4 if you really need me to hear something.” Of course, that is not the way I operate mostly in my relationship with God because most of our communication is rather quiet and unassuming.

However…there are those times…these past two days have been one of those times where a thought or concept seems to make itself visible multiple times in a row. I have been confronted with three specific instances where a communique was only partially true with the (intended or not) results being a mis-direction of the facts. When I took just a moment to think about this topic, dozens more examples flooded into my mind as well over just the past couple of weeks.

I am going to categorize these mis-direction strategies into three categories…those intentionally trying to cover the truth through deception, those unknowingly communicating partial truths and those purposely not sharing the whole truth for the good of the listener.

Examples of all three of these ways can be found in our government. Politicians are masters of mis-direction. In times of war, mis-direction can be used to intentionally mis-inform the enemy and/or to protect the troops in battle. Our wartime commanders have a responsibility to protect those under their charge. They do not have a responsibility to share all of the facts with the general public.

However, this same strategy can also be used to intentionally deceive the very people who are holding you accountable for your actions. In this case…politicians (in wartime or not) often tell partial truths to deflect the hearers to focus on something only partially related.

It has been 9 days since I last posted. I can’t remember when the last time that happened. I apologize to people because I know visitors come with an expectation that there will be a new post at least every 3-4 days. So…this is my formal apology but there has been some great things happening.

I have not been away on vacation or off having fun somewhere (it would have been nice). No…I was working diligently on many various things. I want to briefly share two of those things before I get into the theme of today.

The first thing is my son and I have spent some time scouting for a new soccer team we are putting together for him. The story behind this is that we have been told by many people that it would be nearly impossible to put together a new team at this age and at this level.

The age group is U-17 and the level of play is Division 1 Competitive Soccer. By the time these young men reach this age they are typically set on a team or realize the fact that higher levels of soccer are not in their future. We knew going in that it is a tough task.

I told my son about 3 years ago that I would help him in any way I could to enable him to follow his dreams and passions to play professional soccer. There was one caveat to this that I clearly shared with him. That is, he needed to apply himself to learning how to create wealth. I didn’t just tell him he needed to get a job and work. He needed to learn how to become an entrepreneur, learn about investing and other things so that he could set himself up for financial success no matter what the circumstances were in his life or the life of the economy at large.

Well…he followed through and is diligently learning what it means to create wealth and also to follow his dreams at the same time. The other part of this equation is that I have coached all of my other children who play. The only two that I have not coached are my eldest and my youngest…who is too young. So we decided that if we didn’t make that happen now…it never would.

Before I continue I simply want to state that although my blog is not political in nature I don’t want to neglect talking about important issues…even if they are controversial. I don’t consider these political per se because they are simply issues that affect our lives. They are put into the political realm by the media because political speech is somehow easier to discount if you disagree than simply pointing out the truth that people are having a discussion about things that truly affect their individual, family and communal lives.

If you have read my blog posts then you know that I will come back to issues that affect me and my family from time to time but it is not my primary focus. This is the first time I have posted back to back “issues related” posts.

I am passionate about life, freedom and the ability to live in love relating to God, my family, friends and my community at large. This passion entails healthy living in regards to relationships, personal healthcare, sports and activities and a life of joyous laughter and enjoying this great gift we have been given.

So you will see that my posts and articles relate primarily to these issues. Sometimes they have to reach into the controversial realm…but I just want to assure you that I have not changed my focus to simply speak on the national healthcare issue.

I will say though, before I continue, that the passage of the healthcare bill does prompt a great deal of thoughts in light of taking responsibility for personal healthcare. Now, more than ever, in the history of our country will it be imperative to learn what it means to take care of yourself.

Also…I think we will be entering into a time where individuals in the natural healthcare business can emerge even more at the forefront of not only true healthy living but creating opportunities for business that have not been tapped into before.

We may have to fight for our right to share what we believe…but as we overcome that hurdle we will find the mass energy of the public looking for ways that actually work to become healthy in a number of ways.

I don’t know how political you are or not…but I take much of it with a grain of salt and other things very seriously!

I have 7 children that I am concerned for…

The future of my 7 children is very closely related to the future of our Great Nation! I think in many ways we have lost our bearings. When I hear language from our politicians such as our rights come from the government…it makes me very uneasy.

The Declaration of Independence makes it crystal clear that we have certain inalienable rights from our Creator…and no one else. The constitution of the Soviet Union provided rights such as HealthCare, a job, education, food and the like and yet millions of people were forced into poverty and starvation because of the corruption and the failed attempt at trying to make everyone equal. There is no such thing as social justice…it has never worked in the history of the world.

Everytime a government grabs control over a people…the people lose their freedoms. It has never been any different and it never will.

If you have read the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy or seen the movies then you are familiar with the “one ring to rule them all”…the ring of power. No one could resist the corrupt nature of ultimate power…no matter how much someone wanted to use that power for good.

Tolkien understood the human condition that power always corrupts and it will never be any different.

Please watch this video and then I beg you to make a difference in the future of our nation by sharing it and by calling your congressman or congresswoman.

Congress is scheduled to vote on this Power Grab on Sunday…there is still time to do something about it. Share this video, contact your friends and neighbors and have everyone flood the phones and emails and faxes of our congress. Take some time and look this bill over…even if you don’t have time to read all 2,700 pages…and it is not complete yet. How many of our elected officials are going to read it? Honestly…

I didn’t quite know how to categorize this post because it entails some different aspects of things I think are really important. But…it dawned on me that if my perspective of life was not what it is, I would have missed this incredible 45 minutes of my life and a chance to bless a man who has given his life as a “living sacrifice” for our freedom.

I am going to break this up into a couple of different parts…

Living in the Now…

My perspective of life has very much to do with embracing the present moment to its very fullest as much as is possible. I have some very solid reasons, I believe, for approaching life in this manner.

I have been on a journey these past 28 years of my life (I am currently 46) that has lead me to a point of complete transformation in the way I view the world in which we live.

I was always taught that you need to map out and plan your life according to your goals and then to write those goals down because it really creates a powerful momentum and energy to take you where you want to go.

As much as I believe these are great things to do…for me I have found a way that enables me to live in such a way as to find great freedom and also to be highly productive in ways that are effectively taking me to places beyond where I wanted to go…places I hadn’t even conceived of existing before.

So…what am I talking about?

I don’t watch Larry King much and I’m not a big fan of Bill Maher but I saw this short video of Bill once again talking about the American people and just felt the need to share it. I have a completely different view of people. I believe people are fully capable of making their own choices about safety, business, finances, family matters, schooling, healthcare, spiritual and/or religious choices and a whole host of other things. Bill Maher believes that the American people are “animals” who are simply looking for someone to follow.

In my experience in dealing with people…they simply want to be left alone to live out their lives as freely as possible. Most of the folks that I am in communication with acknowledge the need for a government…but only a very limited government. Anyhow…watch the video and see for yourself. I know he is a comedian but he doesn’t give any indication that he is just trying to be funny here. This isn’t the first time he has said these types of things either.

A short aside:

My plan for doing a post per day kind of flew out the window with a neck injury I sustained about a week ago. I was in so much pain I was not only nauseous, but I had to concentrate to keep form tearing up.

I have felt this kind of pain before when I blew out a disc or two in my lower back about 24 years ago. I did something similar to my neck but here’s the difference…I was back playing soccer tonight after one week. If I hadn’t have been supernaturally healed over two decades ago from my back injury, the year and a half that I was completely out of commission would have stretched into who knows how long.

Is my neck 100% better right now? Not yet! In fact I kind of screwed up tonight in my soccer game. My teammate put a nice fat juicy ball about head height in front of the goal. I had vowed not to head the ball at all tonight but I only remembered this half way through my going for the header wanting to put that ball into the goal. At the last moment I pulled back and it hit my head but I didn’t “go for it” at all…so the impact was minimal.

I wish I could tell you that it scored but it did not. I didn’t care I just remembered the intense pain I have felt this week and was grateful for just a smidgeon of common sense on my part. I may pay for it just a bit tomorrow…but it may just remind me to continue being careful for a few more days until I am healed up again.

Anyhow…I was going to write on this subject tonight because I believe it is so important to share the information of how I can get such amazing results in this realm of overcoming injuries. Plus…honestly, I think you should purchase my ebook on the subject. You may not care right now, but you will have wished you had this information whenever you or a loved one gets injured and the best you can do is listen to the so-called “experts” out there telling you to do so many things that simply do not work very well.

I will share more about this at a later time but I must at least share this secret…the first five minutes after an injury (sometimes up to one hour) are the most critical for absolutely lightening fast recoveries. If you use ice, you will close down this window of opportunity. If you follow my methods, you will see recovery periods that are 5-10 times faster than you thought possible.

Okay…I feel compelled to share something else tonight that I think is of much greater importance. I don’t know about you, but I am horrified when I take a critical look at what is happening in our country.

Is our economy safe? When we have a national debt of over $12,000,000,000,000.00 and other unfunded liabilities of over $107,000,000,000,000.00 (yes…that is how many zeros you need for trillions) I can’t just sit back any longer because I don’t want to offend you fine people in the world of the internet…especially my friends in the internet marketing industry.
