Hard Work, Desire, Belief in Yourself
You know I was thinking today as I drove my daughter to her soccer tournament about how to inspire her to play at her very best. (I believe that if you are going to spend your time doing something…do it with all of the energy, joy and gusto that is within you).
Just before we left we watched the Cristiano Ronaldo video that I posted a few days ago. If you watch that video closely enough and let it speak to you it will begin to permeate into the very core of your being. Watching the joy, the effort, the confidence and the intense desire that he puts out is mesmerizing and inspiring.
It got me thinking about his unbelievable success as a player and what it takes to reach the level of the world's best at anything. (Now some may disagree but he was officially recognized as the world's best soccer player a couple of years ago and today he is easily in the top five).
So I was considering these things while I was driving and a picture of success started to form in my mind. I shared it with my daughter. This picture of success is based upon these three pillars:
Hard Work
Desire
Belief in Yourself
I shared with her how I truly saw greatness in her and that she needs to embrace that type of belief in herself. If she can envision herself…I mean truly see it happening at the core gut level…scoring the winning goal or overcoming her opponent or whatever…she will start to be able to walk in who she is created to be…whether it be as a soccer player or anything else.
I also shared with her that if she really wants it more than anyone else on the field, she will most likely be the most effective player out there. I just tried to get her to see that if her desire is great enough…there is no one on that field who is going to be able to keep up with her.
As we watched Cristiano Ronald put maximum effort into getting to the ball before everyone else I pointed out that we were watching one of the reasons he is better than nearly everyone all of the time. He wants it so bad. He wants to get the ball first. He wants to keep the ball. And most of all…he wants to score. His Desire is greater than everyone else's on the field.
I also know that he gives his all when he plays and he works extremely hard all year long whether he is training or competing. That hard work and persistence has paid off for him and it will pay off for my daughter.
Well…she played an excellent game. As I watched her I noticed she is so close to breaking through and becoming a truly great player. She made great passes…she engaged in the game with high energy…she had good shots (including a header that just missed wide)…she controlled the ball and dribbled very well. I could tell that she was playing a bit inspired. Our little talk on the way to her game impacted her. I kept telling her I believe in her (she has heard it her whole life to varying degrees) and she is really beginning to believe in herself as well…and it shows.
I am so proud of her but this doesn't stop here. She will continue to improve her game and become that truly great player she wants to be. But these same characteristics are vital to success in all areas of life and to all people as well. I play a fair amount of soccer. I happen to score a great many goals and one of the reasons why is I believe I can score almost at any time. Guess what? I shoot a lot. I believe when I shoot I am going to make it. I truly believe in myself. The ball sometimes magically goes into the goal. I almost think it is catapulted by the energy of my belief in myself.
I believe in myself in my business as well. I am committed to becoming one of the foremost business persons on the internet. I work extremely hard…I have an intense amount of desire to have a name that is synonymous with Internet Marketing and Network Marketing and I absolutely believe I can make that happen.
Of course it could never happen without the help of others…that is always going to be the case. Part of my journey to this point has been learning from others how to market and also how to grow into who I am today. I am not finished by any means but my abilities, my confidence, my desire, my work ethic and more are becoming more and more refined as each week passes.
Today…I have a group of people that walk out this journey with me. We call ourselves the "Daily Crushers" and we work to inspire and encourage one another to greatness. I highly encourage you to visit them as well. From this group of intensely desirous and inspiring individuals…you will be blessed beyond measure. I promise! Here they are: Patrick Mcintosh, Matthew Neer, Heather Taskovics, Scott Phares, Glenn Arcaro, Debbie Wood, Joey Wilson, Phil Jackson and myself, Bruce Backman.
I am incredibly excited about this journey and I so wanted to convey to you the heart and soul of these concepts today.
Hard Work
Desire
Belief in Yourself
These are true pillars of success for me and I believe for you as well in any endeavor that you engage in. You may not truly know how to take yourself there…I understand. At least start dressing yourself in the mindset. Start applying Hard Work. Figure out your biggest "WHY" as to the reason you want to succeed and find someone who will help you believe in yourself if you are not quite there yet.
I love to see people start that transforming process of coming to the point in their lives when they truly believe they can fulfill their dreams and desires. Their desires become so intense that nothing is going to stand in their way.
It reminds me of Thomas Edison…how many times did he "fail?" I believe it was in the thousands. How do we remember him today? He finally succeeded. His desire was so intense he was never going to quit…he was not going to truly fail. He worked and worked and worked until he figured it out. He never quit because he truly believed that he could do it.
These are the things of greatness. Can you hear my heart beating just a bit more quickly? I feel these things deeply in my core, my gut. I so want you to hear me and understand in your core as well.
I have a feeling tomorrow my daughter is just going to build on these things herself and open the door to greatness just a crack more. I am beyond proud of her and hope these things for you as well.
If you want any help in these areas…just let me know.
Please leave a comment and RT etc…I do appreciate it so very much.
